Contents

Just so you know, buying a Facebook page is a thing.

No wonder, Facebook is the most popular social media platform in the world after all. With over 2.7 billion monthly active users, it dominates the social media sphere.

Many people use Facebook just for fun and entertainment and to connect with their friends and family. But do you know that making money on Facebook is also an option?

All is possible thanks to the Facebook Monetization policy. As a result, you can easily earn money through your Facebook page without the need for any website.

Because of that, many people who want to earn extra income through Facebook have considered buying a Facebook page

In this post, you’re going to learn about Facebook page monetization eligibility, as well as where to buy a Facebook page.

Let’s go!

What Is Facebook Page Monetization And Ad Breaks?

As the name suggests, you can monetize your videos that are uploaded on your Facebook page. The Ad breaks is the name given by Facebook for the short ads that are placed in your videos.

In short, Facebook ad breaks allow you to monetize your Facebook video content.

You can include the ad breaks in specific videos or all videos that are uploaded in your Facebook page. These ads are automatically placed at natural breaks in your content, or you can choose your own placements.

What Is Facebook Page Monetization Eligibility? (Facebook ad breaks eligibility)

Facebook page monetization eligibility

Before thinking about how to buy a Facebook page, you should know the requirements for Facebook monetization.

Firstly, your page must comply with Facebook’s Partner Monetization Policies that are centered around community standards, copyright enforcement, authenticity, and engagement.

Secondly, you must reside in one of the eligible countries and post content in one of the eligible languages. Don’t get discouraged if your country isn’t on the list yet; the list of eligible countries is growing fairly fast.

However, there have been reports that this requirement may have been removed from some pages in the last year. This means even if you are not from the list of eligible countries, you might still be able to apply.

Moreover, you must publish content on your business page (not your personal profile).

Most importantly, your page must have reached one of these milestones in the past 60 days:

  • The page must have at least 10,000 followers.
  • At least five videos published on your Page
  • Have generated at least 600,000 one-minute views on videos that are at least 3 minutes long in the last 60 days.

Lastly, you must be at least 18 years old to sign up for the program.

Even after your page has gained Facebook instream ads eligibility, the advertisers will monitor your videos from time to time. If they find something offensive, they may stop showing ads on your videos.

At the time of writing this post, the pages that publish videos in multiple languages are not eligible.

  • Audio and subtitles

But don’t worry, if your video does not qualify for monetization, you can edit it and reapply again.

How Do Facebook Instream Ads Work?

Overall, there are 3 forms of Facebook instream ads: pre-roll, mid-roll, and image ads.

To add Ad Breaks to new videos, you can use Facebook Creator Studio.

In Creator Studio, upload a new video by selecting Video from the Home tab. After you have uploaded your new video, you can select Ad breaks in the video composer.

There are two ways an ad break can be inserted into your video.

Automatic Placements

Recommended because the Facebook algorithm determines the best placements for ads in your content.

This feature can be turned on at the video level – when uploading and enabling ad breaks for a specific video – or chosen as the default feature at Page level.

This feature works best when your content is editorially set up to accommodate an ad break.

Manual Placements

This allows you to choose exactly where an ad break will go. ‘Try inserting an ad break straight after a cliffhanger to keep the audience on the edge of their seats to keep watching,’ Facebook advised.

If you’re worried about what types of adverts may appear, you can decide which advertisers, or categories of advertisers, you don’t want showing in between your content by creating block lists or using category controls.

How To Add Ad Breaks To Existing Videos

Facebook Creator Studio allows you to add Ad Breaks to your existing videos as well.

  • Select Monetisation in the left navigation.
  • Select Ad breaks in the drop-down menu and then choose a video from the list.
  • Select Edit video.
  • From the video composer, select Ad breaks from the right-hand menu. From there, add your ad breaks using the steps listed above.

Facebook Page Monetization Eligibility (Ad Breaks) Vs. YouTube

The Facebook monetization eligibility has a lot of restrictions compared to YouTube.

Whereas YouTube doesn’t impose country and language specific restrictions. The Ad breaks works only for high engaging pages. On the other hand, anyone can start a YouTube channel.

However, your channel has to attract 1000 subscribers and 4000 watched hours in 1 year. Still, it is easier to monetize a YouTube channel than striving for Facebook video monetization from our perspective.

It is for this reason that many people consider to buy a Facebook page with likes rather than starting from scratch like on Youtube.

How To Know If My Videos Are Being Monetised?

How To Know If My Videos Are Being Monetised?

To make it easy for you to know which of your videos are being monetised, Facebook uses four coloured icons called monetisation statuses.

  • Blue: the video is being reviewed against the Monetisation Eligibility Standards. Based on this review, Facebook will determine whether the video is eligible for monetisation.

Videos may be able to earn limited revenue from ad breaks while under review, but won’t be fully cleared for monetisation until the review is complete.

  • Green: the video is eligible for monetisation, and you can now earn money from this content.
  • Yellow: the video has been reviewed against the Facebook Monetisation Eligibility Standards and has been identified as not being advertiser friendly.

A grey icon means you did not enable ad breaks for that video.

Note that it takes 24-48 hours for Facebook to review a video.

How Will You Get Paid?

The payments will be made every month. You must reach at least $100 for withdrawing funds. The payment options are PayPal and bank transfer.

Facebook Live Ads for Live Streamers

During a live Facebook broadcast, certain broadcasters will see the option to take a short break and have an ad play during that time. Users will be shown a brief Facebook video ad, and then the live broadcast will resume.

Not everyone has the ability to run video ads in their live stream though. Facebook is pretty strict about this to avoid a bunch of self-impressed “influencers” and “gurus” with non-existing audiences to run a live broadcast and then show ad after ad, just trying to earn some cash.

In fact, to enable Live ads, you need to fulfill these requirements

  • You have more than 50,000 followers and have reached 300 or more concurrent viewers in a recent live video.
  • You have to livestream from a Facebook Page, not a personal account.
  • Your current live video has reached at least 300 concurrent viewers.
  • You’ve been live for at least 4 minutes. After that, you can run another ad if you’ve waited for a minimum of 5 minutes from your last break.

Final Words

Despite the recent setbacks, Facebook is still the most used social platform on earth. Having a presence on Facebook is almost required to succeed.

However, if funneling direct traffic is what you’re after, you may be a tad disappointed. The reach restrictions imposed by Facebook won’t allow you to gain any significant traffic from a single page.

Even so, Facebook still offers fanpage owners a great way of making money. Whether it’s via AdBreaks or the newly introduced Show Pages, you can make some serious money with some creativity and the right content.

However, since Facebook instream ads eligibility can be tough to pass, choosing to buy a Facebook page can be a much more viable option.

As such, AudienceGain can help you to find the most suitable Facebook page based on your needs and your budget. All of them come with authentic likes and follows as well as monetization right on.

At last, thank you for reading. See you next time!
